Float Judging Criteria

A panel of judges will determine the best float entries by the using the following criteria.

A maximum of 100 points may be earned from each of the judges.

                              

To Be judged you must arrive promptly at 8:30 am at the Hoisington Activity Center (back parking lot).

 

Overall Appearance (0-20 points):  _______

• Does the float look good?

• Does the float adhere to the “MAGICAL” theme?

• Does the float promote spirit of the Hoisington Labor Day Weekend?

• Doe the float appropriately represent the contestant’s Organization?

 

Construction Quality (0-20 points):  _______

• How well is the float put together?

• Difficulty of construction?

• Will the float last through the parade?

• Does it look safe?

Originality (0-50 points):  _______

• Is it something out of the ordinary?

• Is the idea of the float projecting the theme of “MAGICAL” creatively?

Extra Points (0-10 points):  _______

• Awarded for: Moveable parts, gimmicks, encompassing traits of the Hoisington Labor Day Weekend.

 

TOTAL Points (0-100 points):  _______

 

Prize awards will be based on the above criteria.

 

First Place the total points from judges will be the Highest. ($250)

Second Place the total points from judges will be the Second Highest ($100)

Third Place the total points from judges will be the Third Highest ($75)
