Community BBQ & Beer Garden 

The Labor Day Kick-Off BBQ & Beer Garden will be held Friday night in conjunction with the Hoisington High School Home Football Game!  The BBQ will be right across the street from the stadium for easy access to dinner and the game! The beer garden will stay open until 12 a.m.

Food is a great part about Labor Day!  With many vendors in town from all over the state, carnival food, and BBQ's, who's not happy!  Menus will be available in July. Check back later.

Bubba's 6th Annual Hoisington Labor Day BBQ Cook-off!
 
Saturday, September 2nd at Manweiler Chevy's parking lot.
 
This cook-off will begin at 7 a.m. (6 a.m. check-in) and the categories include Chicken, Pork Ribs, Brisket, Dessert and "Anything Goes!"  
 
To register for the BBQ, call 620-793-4904 or 620-793-4885. $25 to enter. 
 
At 1:30 p.m., the public is invited to sample the participant's food for a $5 donation with 50% of the proceeds donated to the Kans for Kids Foundation.

Community Wide Garage Sales 

For the kids! - Races and dance party!

 

Come out to the Hoisington Activity Center Saturday morning with your kids! Enjoy traditional kid's races, hoola hoop contest, a 60's dance party, turtle races, Touch A Truck and face painting by Funtastic Faces (who will be here all weekend!). Screwloose BBQ is also joining the party from 10-2!

Labor Day Baby Pageant

 

The Labor Day Pageant now has it's own Facebook page. Like "Hoisington Labor Day Pageants" to find out what the new changes are this year!  

 

We have 25 children participating in the Labor Day Royalty Pageants this year! 

Tickets to the pageants will be sold at the HHS auditorium the morning of the pageants for $2 each. The parents have outdone themselves with the 80's theme, so come support our next generation of kids!

The Roto-Mix RoundUp will be on Saturday, September 3rd on Main Street, Hoisington. We are excited to bring Jake Gill to town!  Intermission for the Roto-Mix RoundUp will feature the "Thunder in the Wetlands" Fireworks Display!  Enjoy food and drink and PARTY!

 

Admission to the concert will be $5 for adults, $3 for kids 5-12 and kids 4 and under get in free!

Wanna see some dirt fly? Come out Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. to watch the 33rd Annual Kansas State Demolition Derby right here in Hoisington! Or even better, enter a car into the Derby to win CASH and TROPHIES!

Kids Parade - 50's theme!

Here's a chance for the kid's to be the stars in the 50's themed Labor Day Kid's Parade!  This parade starts at 10:10 a.m. on Monday and follows the same route as the main parade. All kids will get a prize for participating and are encouraged to dress up in 50's inspired outfits! Participants should meet in front of the High School by 10 a.m.

to reminice and party!  If you know of a reunion, please email
the Chamber the year of the class, the contact person for the
reunion, and what your plans are.  We will be happy to include
this information on the CLASS REUNION page for your class members 
to reference!

Friday Night Football!

 

Cardinal Football:  The Hoisington Cardinals will be playing on home turf
on Friday, September 2nd starting at 7:00.  Please plan to come to the
game and support the Cardinals as they look to build on a playoff run
from last season.  Hoisington High School would like to invite all alumni
who are having class reunions this year to the game, free of charge! 
We will recognize each class on the field at halftime. 

 

Open House:  Hoisington High School will have an open house on Sunday, September 4th from 1:00-4:00.  

 

Bird's Eye View with DWTA!

DWTA rides will cost $40 per person, weight restrictions apply. Saturday morning they will be taking off from the Hoistington Rec Center, the rest of the weekend they will be just south of the tracks on Main Street.

Ottaway Amusements Carnival and Midway

How about blocks full of carnival rides for 4 whole days!?! We are excited to have Ottaway Amusements Co. for our 120th Annual Labor Day Celebration!

 

They will open at 6pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with pay one price wristbands from 6-10pm each evening. On Monday, they will open at 10am with two separate wristband sessions from 10am-5pm and 5pm-10pm.

Beer & Pop ID Contest

The Hoisington Knights of Columbus with host their annual beer identification contest and a cola identification contest from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 5 at the K. of C. Hall.
